Descripiton

Apache and other web servers, under certain configurations, may only recognize the first file extension when processing filenames while ignoring any subsequent suffixes (such as .jpg). This allows attackers to bypass blacklists that only allow uploading images and other permitted extensions, upload malicious PHP files, and achieve remote code execution (RCE) privileges, ultimately gaining full control of the server, stealing sensitive data, or planting backdoors. This rule supports to defend the A6: Vulnerable and Outdated Components of OWASP Top 10 - 2021.
