Description: D-Link, a leading global manufacturer of network equipment, provides network equipment and solutions.A weak authentication vulnerability exists in certain D-Link router models (such as DIR-818LW, DIR-828, etc.) that use the HNAP protocol. An attacker can exploit this flaw by using the default username combined with an empty password to craft a specific request that bypasses the authentication mechanism, allowing unauthorized access to the device's administrative interface and potentially enabling further sensitive operations or attacks.
Impact: An attacker can do anything via a successful exploit in the context of the vulnerable software.
